MasterCard

Australian Central's MasterCard offers up to 55 days interest free credit, as well as a choice of two Rewards Programs including one that converts Rewards points to Qantas Frequent Flyer Points *. You can also have the ability to purchase big ticket items at a reduced rate.

The Australian Central MasterCard is provided by Citibank Pty Ltd ABN 88 004 325 080 AFSL No. 238098 who currently provide MasterCard and processing services to over 110 affiliated credit unions Australia-wide.

Silver or Gold Card options

You have the choice of a Silver card or Gold card when applying for a MasterCard. The Gold card includes all the standard features, plus extra benefits such as higher credit limits, free comprehensive overseas travel insurance, and a choice between a wide range of Rewards including travel options or automatic conversion to Qantas Frequent Flyer points* monthly.

Reward Program

Every dollar you spend using your Australian Central MasterCard (excluding balance transfers and cash advances) earns you 1 Reward point towards a range of achievable rewards. There are two types of programs:

Standard Rewards

You can access a wide range of rewards including magazine subscriptions, shopping and travel vouchers, movie tickets, household goods and wine.

Card Services Qantas Rewards (Gold Card only)

You can choose to upgrade to this premium Rewards program, which will transfer your Rewards points to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership - one for one*. Your points will be automatically transferred to Qantas Frequent Flyer points at the end of each statement period.

Both programmes offer a number of attractive features including no points expiry (providing account remains open and in good working order) and the ability to earn extra points at selected bonus partners.

Annual Fee

The annual fee is charged then annually from the first charge date. The annual fee can be paid using Rewards points (once it has appeared on your statement).

Interest free days

Up to 55 days interest free credit gives you financial flexibility. Pay off your balance within this interest-free period and you'll avoid interest on your credit card purchases all-together.
Please note: interest free days only apply to credit purchases. Cash advances, balance transfers and other charges (e.g. interest, fees etc) are not included in the interest free days.

Using your MasterCard

You can use your Australian Central MasterCard to:

  • Make credit purchases at any retailer or business where the MasterCard symbol is displayed.
  • Make cash advances at any ATM or financial institution accepting MasterCard (fees apply).
  • Make credit transactions at EFTPOS outlets (please note cash cannot be withdrawn).

Minimum monthly payment

$30 or 2% of the outstanding balance (whichever is greater) plus any delinquent and/or overlimit amount. If your statement balance is less than $26, then the full balance must be paid.

Making Payments

You can make payments using any of the following methods:

  • Easi-Pay - a free monthly direct debit from an Australian Central account for the full payment owing, minimum payment due or a set amount.
  • By phone or internet using BPAY® (Biller Code 49502)
  • By cheque in the mail
  • Over the counter at Australia Post outlets (a fee applies)

Credit Limit

Your credit limit is assigned based on the strength of your application. You can not request a credit limit, however you can request an increase of your limit once your account has been open for 9 months. You can request a decrease to your credit limit at any time.

Approval Time

Your application will be processed by Australian Central's credit card provider, Citibank. You should receive approval within 2 weeks of submitting your application.

Additional Cards

You can request up to four FREE additional cards for your partner, family or other dependants over 16 years of age. These are linked to your MasterCard account and are provided at no additional cost.

The Card Service Centre

Once your Australian Central MasterCard has been approved by our credit card provider, all enquiries (e.g. transactions, payments, changes of address etc) are handled by the Card Service Centre where staff provide around the clock service - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. How to apply

To apply for an Australian Central MasterCard download an application form or call our National Contact Centre on 13 13 21.

You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program in order to redeem Rewards points for Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Membership of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program is subject to the terms and conditions of the program and a joining fee applies. When selecting a Gold MasterCard with the Card Services Qantas Rewards program, Rewards points will automatically be transferred to Qantas Frequent Flyer points at the end of each statement period. Qantas award flights are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited.
